When were electric vehicles introduced?

Electric vehicles were first introduced in the early 19th century. One of the earliest electric vehicles was built by Thomas Davenport in 1834. However, it was not until the late 19th century that electric vehicles gained popularity, with advancements in motor and battery technology. In fact, electric vehicles were the dominant form of transportation in the early 20th century, before being overtaken by gasoline-powered vehicles. Today, electric vehicles are experiencing a resurgence in popularity due to advancements in battery technology and a growing concern for the environment.
