What are motorcycle helmets made out of?

Motorcycle helmets are typically made out of a hard outer shell, an impact-absorbing liner, and cushioning interior padding. The outer shell is often made from materials such as polycarbonate, fiberglass, or carbon fiber, which provide strength and durability while remaining lightweight. The impact-absorbing liner is usually made from expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam or other energy-absorbing materials. This liner is designed to absorb and distribute the force of an impact, helping to protect the rider's head and reduce the risk of serious injury. The interior padding provides comfort and helps to keep the helmet securely in place. Additionally, Motorcycle helmets may also feature a visor or face shield for added protection from wind, debris, and the sun.
