How to store electric golf cart for several months?

When storing an electric golf cart for several months, there are a few important steps to take to ensure its longevity and performance. Firstly, it is essential to ensure that the battery is stored properly. Before storing the golf cart, charge the battery fully to prevent it from discharging. Disconnect the battery cables to prevent any drainage during the storage period. It is recommended to store the battery in a cool and dry place, ideally at a consistent temperature of around 50°F (10°C). Check the battery periodically and recharge it if necessary to prevent it from fully discharging. Next, clean the golf cart thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris that may have accumulated. This includes washing the exterior of the cart, cleaning the seats and interior, and wiping down any exposed metal or plastic surfaces. Applying a protective wax or sealant can help protect the cart's finish and prevent any corrosion. To prevent flat spots on the tires, inflate them to the recommended pressure and occasionally rotate the tires if the storage duration is longer. It is also advisable to place the golf cart on jack stands to relieve pressure from the tires. When storing the golf cart, choose a secure and dry location such as a garage or storage unit. Ensure that the cart is covered with a breathable cover to protect it from dust and moisture. If the storage area is prone to extreme temperature fluctuations, consider using a dehumidifier to maintain optimal conditions. Lastly, it is recommended to perform regular maintenance before storing the golf cart. This includes checking fluid levels, ensuring all connections are secure, and lubricating any moving parts. Additionally, consider removing any perishable items that could attract pests or cause damage. By following these guidelines, you can store your electric golf cart safely and ensure that it is ready for use when you are ready to hit the links again.
