How does an electric bike motor work?
An electric bike motor utilizes an electric power source, usually a battery, to drive a motor that is mounted either in the front, rear, or mid-section of the bicycle. When the rider pedals, sensors in the motor detect movement, and the motor determines how much assistance is needed based on the selected pedal-assist level or throttle input. The motor then propels the bike forward through either the chain, belt, or hub motor system. The power output of the motor can vary greatly depending on the design and specifications of the eBike.
