How does an ebike motor work?

An eBike motor works by using a battery-powered electric motor to provide pedal-assist or throttle-based acceleration to the rider. The motor is mounted on the frame of the bike and can be connected to the chain or rear wheel hub. When the rider pedals, the motor senses the movement and applies additional power to the pedals, making it easier for the rider to cycle uphill or against strong winds. Throttle-based acceleration is a feature where the rider does not need to pedal, and the motor provides power with the push of a button or a twist of the handlebar grip. The motor power, measured in watts, determines the speed and extent of electric assistance provided to the rider. Generally, higher the power, the faster the eBike can go and the more assistance it can give to the rider.
