How do electric bike motors work?

Electric bike motors work by using a battery to power the motor, which is usually located either in the hub of the wheel or in the frame of the bike. When the rider starts pedaling, a sensor activates the motor, which provides additional power to help propel the bike forward. This is known as pedal-assist.
