In early 2025, Panasonic will introduce a larger 4680 battery cell that is reputed to have 5x the capacity of the 2170 cells commonly used in EV batteries.

Bigger battery cells are good, but one writer believes that solid-state batteries will be the only option for realizing significant performance gains for electric motorcycles.

French e-moto maker Voxan teamed up with Ohio State University to break four separate electric motorcycle land-speed records, including a top speed of 180 mph, at the Bonneville Flats.

Zero Motorcycles released new variants of its S and DS e-motos. The Charge PLUS+ and Power PLUS+ offer customers the choice of either a 6kW charge tank for faster charging and public charging capabilities or a power tank with an additional 3.6kW to extend the bike’s riding range.

Chinese e-moto producer GoWow opened a new subsidiary in Munich, Germany, to expand sales and distribution of its Ori and Alpha electric motorcycles in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

UK-based Pashley announced two new e-bikes. The Pathfinder E, a classic styled city bike, and the trail-focused Pathfinder XE eMTB. Both e-bikes are driven by a Mahle X30 motor, powered by a discreet frame-integrated battery, and feature Shimano’s latest Cues drivetrain.

Bosch announced a big update to its Flow smart e-bike app - but not everyone is getting access.

DJI raised the bar in the eMTB world with its Avinox mid-drive motor that cranks out 105Nm of torque. Here’s an explainer on DJI’s tech to achieve that extra torque in a compact design.
