Transport for London’s latest cycling report reveals an impressive 26% increase in bike trips since 2019. The UK capital saw a daily average of 1.33M rides in 2024, a 5% increase from 2023.

Across the pond, Americans have voted for over $27.3B in funding for bike infrastructure projects via ballot measures so far this year, according to state-by-state analysis by PeopleForBikes. Not bad for a “car-centric” nation.

Relatedly: US cyclist and pedestrian fatalities declined by 3.2% in the first half of 2023 compared to last year, but they remain higher than pre-pandemic levels.

The UK Transport Secretary Louise Haigh announced a plan that calls for more streets to accommodate e-bike and e-scooter rental operations.
