I’m not a cyclist who’d typically gravitate towards a folding e-bike, but I’ve found myself riding the Vika+ more and more even after its official test period with Electric Bike Report ended — it’s an exceptionally fun ride.

At a current price point of under $1800 for a dual battery cargo e-bike, the Lectric XPedition bundles some great features at an affordable price, and gives you a ton of value for your money.

I think Euphree did a great job in designing a bike that toes the line between commuter and cruiser. Maybe more importantly — considering this is the 2022 edition of the bike — I think they did a great job of making a number of small changes that add up to a noticeable difference in how the bike rides.

This is a reliable and cost-efficient entry-level drivetrain from Shimano that'll work well in most situations

The review of the 10 ways cgo 600 Pro e-bike highlighted its lightweight and easy usage for urban environments. It's an established brand in Europe, featuring a sleek European influenced design. Interestingly, the bike is faster in the USA, where it's a Class 1 e-bike capable of speeds up to 20 mph versus the European version's 16 mph. Notably, the bike also includes a responsive torque sensor and an easy to use system with high quality parts. Overall, the 10 ways cgo 600 Pro might not be the quickest or easiest bike for hilly terrains, but its design and performance make it an appealing choice for city cyclists and commuters.

The combination of a very torquey 750W hub motor, an 8-speed drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, the opportunity to order it with two batteries, and a frame design that serves the e-bike’s stated purpose, there is precious little to improve that won’t shift the Dubbel into a more expensive price range.

Despite comparatively smaller 350W motor, it performs well in the city and even in hill climbs when combined with pedalling. The bike maintains a fine balance between feeling like a traditional bicycle and providing the expected e-bike propulsion.

The KBO Hurricane showed me that bigger isn’t always better and that the wattage-to-weight ratio is more important than wattage overall. Yes, the Hurricane struggled on the steep hills, but everywhere else, it held its composure and offered me a smooth, natural feeling experience.

Rad Power Bikes nailed the difficulty of the one gear you have, though. The gearing is hard enough to push the bike faster on flat ground, yet easy enough to pedal up steep hills

The simplicity of the fully rigid frame, single-speed drivetrain merged with a high-performance motor and battery gives the rider a unique and enjoyable riding experience. Rad Power Bikes nailed the engineering of this bike.

The Apex is the highest-end of several hardtail electric fat bikes in QuietKat’s lineup. Spec’d with the Bafang Ultra mid-drive motor, an inverted moto-style front fork, powerful brakes, and a 9-speed SRAM drivetrain, the Apex is a member of a newer niche of electric bikes I’ve started calling the “all-terrain” category.

We like that Sondors have placed the charging port on the right side of the bike, so when you engage the kickstand or fold the bike, the port is on the exterior side — which both keeps it up off the ground and makes it easier to access when charging.

All 3 gears are distinguishable from one another so you’ll notice a difference in pedal resistance with each one.

Another feature we love about the Verve+ 3 is the Range Boost system. Since the main battery locks in and out from the right side, this leaves the top of the tube open for another battery to be attached to double your range

We believe that anybody looking to reduce time spent driving and who appreciates a good pedal experience will like what the Level has to offer. While there are plenty of class 3 e-bikes on the market, very few are as quick and nimble as the Level, especially when taking the price point into account

“Because the Pace 500 is a fully rigid bike, riders must accept the tradeoff of having a lighter weight bike that will feel bumps in the trail or road a lot more than they would on a bike with some form of suspension.”

The Zebra’s lighter weight also appears to have had a positive effect on its braking performance.

Right away we noticed that the Ride1UP Core-5 can move! It’s a fast-rolling bike with or without the motor.

This is an area where I think Mokwheel has set the Basalt up for some success – it’s an e-bike that I think of as an off-roader first, whereas others I think of as for paved trails that I could do light offroading with.

It’s certainly not the fanciest bike we saw at Sea Otter, but I get very excited every time a bigger name puts out a bike on the more affordable end of the spectrum.

The Model S had no issue getting up to top speed quickly. The 500W motor only needed a couple of pedal strokes for the bike to hover above 20 mph.

If you’re riding the D11 on a fully charged battery, I think it’s safe to say you’re going to get to your destination with charge to spare (unless you have a 50+ mile commute of course).

In short, the Blix Ultra truly delivers on being a multipurpose bike. Its construction, integrated features, customization options, and specs make the bike as suitable for camping and off-road exploring as it is for a family tour around town.

I never thought I’d spend so much time in a bike review talking about the seat; all bodies are different, and seats are a very personal choice. But beyond its lack of nose and my own discomfort while using it, what warrants its mention to this degree is the fact that you can’t swap it out.

Overall, the bike handled very well and felt confidence inspiring — an important feature considering this bike is built specifically for new riders or those who might want a bike that’s a little more upright and comfortable.

With a carrying capacity of 300 lbs, a comfortable fit, and a rear rack that’s compatible with accessories and child seats, Radio Flyer has clearly spent a lot of time thinking about how this e-bike could be used to replace car trips — I personally think they nailed it.

"I think this bike was built for the traditional cyclist who’s on the fence about e-bikes. They want a bike that’s going to feel like a normal road bike 95 percent of the time, but they wouldn’t mind a little help when things get steep, windy or they just need to get home on time."

It looks like those first bikes, rides like them and I think they did a nice job of balancing e-bike assist with a bike that pedals exceedingly well.

Once you’re at that 20 mile cruising speed the bike has little trouble maintaining it, even with very little help from your legs.

The Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0 electric commuter bike is a remarkably well-done e-bike. It handles divinely, looks sharp as any commuter could, and is equipped with a motor that can breathe fire in TURBO mode.

For one, I think the exposed cable lines make the V4.0 look a little outdated, as lots of similarly priced bikes use fully enclosed cables or internal cable routing. I also think that the white chain looks a little bit cheap, but I never had any issues with its performance.

The Rad Power Bikes Rad Runner combines moped versatility with cargo bike utility, boasting a 48V 14Ah battery, 750W motor, and a quality aluminum frame with multiple cargo options.

We’d like to see some slightly wider handlebars on future iterations of this bike.

The CGO800S features torque sensing power delivery and a single gear; this means all there is to do is press the on button, select one of five power levels using the arrow buttons by your left thumb and pedal off. Dead simple.

I spent a reasonable amount of time riding this bike on-road and off-road, and components like the suspension fork and fat tires gave me a good balance point and a plush, truck-like feeling when riding over bumpy terrain.

The RadTrike isn’t a novelty addition to Rad’s lineup but rather a needed and useful one. It’s built to accommodate a wide variety of riders -particularly those in need of three wheels when two wheels won’t do for feeling stable. E-trikes have long been a favorite of seniors, and I foresee the value and easy-to-ingrain-into-your-life features of the RadTrike being a highly popular option for anybody seeking a sturdier ride.

I couldn’t tell this was a foldable bike with how sturdy and stable it felt below me and it left me without question Espin did a good job designing the Nesta.

It’s hard to understate the value of the Bosch drive system and the sheer depth of engineering that’s gone into Tern’s bikes, and the Vektron is an electric folder that’s built to last.

The 5 assist levels give the RadRunner Plus the ability to be the conservative ebike that’s in it for the long haul, or the speedy ebike that helps you get to work on time.

The motor feels nice, and aside from a few minor gripes about frame sizing and display readability, we think this is a stellar option for anyone looking for a dependable daily commuter e-bike.

One of the key features is the patented PedelSense software that monitors the rider’s output and contributes power to the overall ride.

Arguably one of the highest performing electric fast folders on the planet.

The Escape is an electric bike that you can commute on or ride around for fun; it does both equally well, and its unique design leaves its utility completely up to the rider.

Overall, this Bafang mid-drive kit is one of the more refined systems that can be installed on almost any bike

"Factor in its looks, componentry and motor performance, and this is probably the top bike on my personal list of best electric folding bikes."

While most affordable e-bike makers buy motors from other companies, Rad designs theirs in house. This is a big deal — one that Rad takes a lot of pride in — and I can say from experience that it does make a difference in performance and reliability.

Overall, we’re incredibly pleased with how well the Aventure performed. In a competitive market flush with affordable fat-tire e-bikes, Aventon stepped up and built a bike that’s refreshingly unique and tremendously fun. We’ve also got a hunch that the Aventure may set a new standard for detail and creativity in the race for the best affordable fat e-bike – if not one of the best electric bikes period.

The main takeaway from our Lectric XP Lite review was that it shifted our view of how affordable an e-bike can be while still being worth recommending.
