The RadExpand uses microSHIFT derailleur and trigger shifters, which I prefer to the large Shimano SIS Index thumb shifter on prior generations, but I think it’s a cheaper brand.

Jeff describes it as a “comfortable and stylish ride for luxury weekend picnics.” But more importantly, he believes it's suitable for your daily commute too. 

The Avento Soltera ebike has the best display panels and smart phone apps I've seen for any electric bike.

SONDORS has upgraded the chains on all of their 2020 models to use stainless steel chains, great for durability and rust resistance – especially if you like to ride on the beach!

The motor feels natural, it’s not as jerky or overwhelming as some of the others, which might not be as impressive during a back-to-back test ride comparison, but is something that I prefer long term as an owner.

Fat tires provide good comfort thanks to the volume of air, you can lower the pressure down to get more comfort but this will hurt your efficiency and seems to miss the point of having these slick city tires in the first place.

The throttle setup on all of the Rad Power Bikes is perfect, in my opinion. It provides variable speed output based on how far you twist, and it overrides pedal assist with full power at any level… even zero.

This is a feature-complete e-bike, ready for casual riding, commuting, day and night, rain or shine.

The RadMission models use a high-resolution, 14-pulse cadence sensor, which makes starting and stopping faster and predictable.

It is an excellent hybrid electric bike for people who want power and range with a more active body position than the Como, which is more of a cruiser.

Elaborating on the approachability, I would say that the Smart Step really shines for average-to-small sized riders, the low standover height makes mounting and dismounting easy, and this is the lightest of the SONDORS models at 55.6 pounds, fairly average for a step-thru electric bike.

The single-speed drivetrain means you have to rely on the throttle if you want to get anywhere near top speed, the thumb throttle on the right is right where it should be to make motorcyclists feel at home…

Excellent stopping power from the Ebike-specific Tektro Auriga E-Sub brakes, these are hydraulic disc brakes with large four-finger levers which makes them incredibly easy to actuate even if you have low grip strength, for contrast most mountain bikes have two-finger levers.

A sporty urban commuter with suspension fork and suspension seat post included! Outfitted with some of the best fenders, rear rack, and integrated lights I've seen on any ebike.
