Jivr

The Jivr Bike is a chainless, foldable electrically assisted bicycle designed for daily urban commuting. The chainless drivetrain takes a lot of the hassle out of DIY maintenance, since there are less moving components that could break and need to be replaced.
The Jivr has excellent battery management and is able to fully charge in as little as 90 minutes to its max range of 20 miles, although the maximum range is a little short when compared to the competition.
Like many modern e-bikes, the Jivr is smartphone compatible and Jivr offers a proprietary app that includes a GPS to help users navigate their way through the busy city streets. The handlebars also double as a smartphone dock to keep your phone safe and secure.
The Jivr Bike doesn't have a traditional frame either. In addition to ditching the chain, Jivr uses a single-arched fork to support the rider's weight. Made from an industry-standard, lightweight aluminum alloy, the bike is durable enough to stand up to the rigors of urban commuting.
Quite possibly the most ergonomic move is the easy folding mechanism. The bike is almost completely foldable, compacting it down to a slightly wide single wheel that can still be rolled by hand so you won't need to worry about lifting the bike to store it.


The Jivr Bike is a new, more futuristic-looking, e-bike on the market. Did Jivr succeed in their mission or should this bike be left alone?

The Jivr Bike is a cleverly designed e-bike that can make a nice addition to the garage of any urban commuter. The chainless design is a nice touch and cuts down on maintenance and associated expenses.
That said, the range is quite low, especially when considering the ranges offered by many similarly priced competitors far outpace the Jivr. 
While it's a good all-around bike, especially for those who don't face a long commute, it may be best to look at similarly priced alternatives if you need, or want, a greater range from your e-bike.
